The Findochty Community Council hosted a successful Resilience Event today, welcoming a steady flow of residents throughout the day. Attendees were eager to learn more about community resilience and how local efforts can help prepare and support one another in times of need.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of resilience planning and how individuals and the wider community can get involved. It was encouraging to see such strong local interest and engagement, making the day a real success.
A special thank you goes to Shona and Natalie from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) for their valuable contributions and insight. Their support, alongside the guidance of Community Liaison Officer Debra Duke, played a key role in the day’s success.
We were also pleased to welcome Councillor Warren and Councillor Stuart, whose attendance and continued support for community initiatives like this are greatly appreciated.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Colin Forbes, Watch Commander, and the Buckie Firefighters Charity Fund for their generous donation to Findochty Resilience. The contribution will go a long way in supporting our community preparedness efforts. A photo from the event captures Community Council Chair Anne Bolton Braidwood accepting the cheque from Colin.
