About Findochty Community Council

Findochty Community Council is the most local level of democracy in the area. It is a statutory body established under the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 and operates in accordance with Moray Council’s Scheme of Establishment.

Members are volunteers elected from within the community to represent local interests, raise concerns, and help ensure residents’ views are heard by decision-makers.

The Community Council discusses local matters, gathers feedback from residents and works with organisations including Moray Council, Police Scotland, local groups and service providers.
