We’re pleased to report that the repair work to the base of the White Mannie memorial has now been completed.

Following a successful crowdfunding campaign, the statue’s viewpoint has been fully re-rendered, restoring its appearance and ensuring it remains structurally sound for years to come. The White Mannie now sits resplendent once more, keeping watch over the harbour from his newly refurbished perch.

The new render needs time to fully dry before it can be sealed, which is scheduled to take place in the next couple of weeks, weather permitting. The final stage of the refurbishment will involve a careful and sympathetic cleaning of the inscription plaque.
