Summary
The Community Council reviewed finances, noted ongoing community concerns, and discussed several local improvement projects and consultations. The current balance stands at £6,459.52, with recent income including a donation and routine administrative spending approved.
Key issues raised by residents included traffic speed signage, maintenance responsibility for the Seaview Road path, overflowing bins, and the deteriorating former chip shop building. Moray Council confirmed no further action would be taken regarding the vacant property at present.
Members discussed community resilience planning, including risks from wildfires as well as power outages, and agreed to seek funding opportunities. Public access arrangements with Seafield Estates remain acceptable provided gates do not block passage.
Updates were received on local authority matters such as potential library changes, budget pressures, the Buckie Harbour development proposals, and school transport consultation. Sub-groups reported on harbour discussions, Christmas lights fundraising, bus shelter condition concerns, and equipment checks including the village defibrillator.
Work will continue over winter on a structured plan for 2026, with community council elections scheduled for November 2025.
