Summary

Findochty Community Council met on 4 May 2026 at Findochty Town Hall, chaired by the Treasurer in the absence of the Chair, who is recovering from an accident. The council recorded its warmest wishes to Anne Braidwood for a full and speedy recovery.
The council formally adopted its revised Standing Orders and a suite of associated governance documents, including a Code of Conduct, Records Retention Policy, and Financial Procedures. Members also approved the annual maintenance and planting plan for the village.
Progress was reported on the proposed community land lease with Seafield Estate. Further legal and insurance advice is required before any agreement can be concluded, and discussions with the Findochty and Buckie Development Trust are ongoing. The Lucky Squares defibrillator fundraising raffle continues, with 65 of 100 squares sold.
Ongoing concerns about the reliability of Stagecoach Route 35 were discussed, and the council is exploring a coordinated response with community councils along the route. The community resilience plan is being updated to include wildfire risks along the coastal paths, ahead of resubmission to Moray Council.
