Summary
Findochty Community Council met on 1 June 2026 at Findochty Town Hall, with ten members of the public in attendance. Sergeant Lucy Cuthbert of Police Scotland attended as a guest to provide an update on antisocial behaviour in the village, confirming that offences have been recorded and enforcement action is ongoing. Members highlighted the impact on residents, businesses, and tourism.
Progress was reported on several ongoing matters: the joint Route 35 bus survey has been submitted to Stagecoach North Scotland and a response is awaited; the Community Resilience Plan version 3.1 has been submitted to Moray Council; and a Lucky Squares raffle raised £500 towards future defibrillator costs.
Members also discussed bench replacement at Crooked Hythe, summer maintenance and planting, and the feasibility of a community pétanque court. Concerns about beach litter and bin capacity at key locations were raised, and a formal request to Moray Council for larger bins will follow.
The next meeting is Monday 6 July 2026 at 7pm, Findochty Town Hall.
