Summary
Findochty Community Council convened on 6 July 2026 at Findochty Town Hall, with two members of the public present. Apologies were noted from the Treasurer and Cllr Sonya Warren.
Antisocial behaviour has returned to its previous pattern following heightened police activity; a revised community report format has been agreed with Police Scotland from August. Crooked Hythe benches require repair to ten rotten timber slats; quotes are being sought. No response has been received from Seafield Estate on the community land lease and a further letter will be sent. Stagecoach acknowledged the Route 35 bus survey but indicated findings did not align with their own data; FCC has requested clarification and a meeting.
The Community Resilience Plan v3.1 has been accepted by Moray Council. Members approved writing to FCC’s three ward councillors sharing the national Community Council Consultative Role Survey results and their relevance to the Scottish Government’s Democracy Matters reform process.
The defibrillator battery is at 16% and will be monitored monthly. Lamp-post swordfish brackets are now fitted.
The next meeting is Monday 3 August 2026 at 7pm, Findochty Town Hall.
