Community Resilience Group
Findochty Community Council established a Community Resilience Group in June 2024 to help prepare the village for emergencies. The group works alongside - not instead of - the emergency services, Moray Council, and other agencies.
What the group does
The group's focus is on preparedness - identifying local risks, maintaining an emergency plan, building relationships with relevant agencies, and making sure residents have the information and resources they need before an emergency happens.
- Maintaining and regularly reviewing Findochty's Community Emergency Plan
- Sourcing and managing community emergency equipment
- Running community resilience events and awareness activities
- Attending training and resilience events on behalf of the community
- Building links with Moray Council, emergency services, and neighbouring community councils
- Meeting quarterly, or more frequently when matters arise
What we've achieved
The group
The Resilience Group was established in June 2024 and currently has three members.
