Findochty Community Council convened on 6 July 2026 at Findochty Town Hall, with two members of the public present. Apologies were noted from the Treasurer and Cllr Sonya Warren.
Antisocial behaviour has reverted to previous levels following a reduction in police presence; however, a revised community report format has been agreed with Police Scotland starting in August. Repairs to ten rotten timber slats on the Crooked Hythe benches are progressing, with quotes currently being sought. Seafield Estate has yet to respond regarding the community land lease, prompting a follow-up letter. Stagecoach acknowledged feedback from the Route 35 bus survey but noted discrepancies with their own data; FCC has requested clarification and a meeting.
The Community Resilience Plan v3.1 has been formally accepted by Moray Council. Members also approved correspondence to the three ward councillors, sharing national survey results on the Community Council Consultative Role and their connection to the Scottish Government’s Democracy Matters reform.
The defibrillator battery now stands at 16% and will be checked monthly. Lamp-post swordfish brackets have been successfully installed.

Findochty Community Council met on 1 June 2026 at Findochty Town Hall with ten members of the public attending. Sergeant Lucy Cuthbert of Police Scotland provided an update on antisocial behaviour, confirming that offences have been recorded and enforcement action is ongoing.
Members noted that the Route 35 bus survey has been submitted to Stagecoach North Scotland, while Community Resilience Plan v3.1 has been sent to Moray Council. A Lucky Squares raffle raised £500 towards future defibrillator costs.
Other topics included replacement benches at Crooked Hythe, summer maintenance and planting, a proposed community pétanque court, and concerns about beach litter and bin capacity. A request for larger bins will be submitted to Moray Council.

Findochty Community Council met on 4 May 2026 at Findochty Town Hall, chaired by the Treasurer while Chair Anne Braidwood recovers from an accident. Members recorded their best wishes for her recovery.
The council adopted revised Standing Orders and updated governance documents, including a Code of Conduct and Financial Procedures. Progress on the proposed Seafield Estate land lease was discussed, with further legal and insurance advice still required.
Members also reviewed concerns over the reliability of Stagecoach Route 35, ongoing defibrillator fundraising, and updates to the community resilience plan, including new wildfire risk measures for coastal paths.

Findochty Community Council met on 6 April 2026, covering a wide range of local issues and priorities. Police updates highlighted anti-social behaviour in the wider area and ongoing preventative work. The Council reported a healthy financial position and agreed actions on governance improvements, including updated policies and procedures. Survey results (65 responses) identified coastal paths, outdoor spaces and dog waste as key concerns. Progress was noted on independent website hosting and a proposed community viewpoint project, with further consideration required on governance structure. Local issues raised included bus reliability, road safety, and infrastructure repairs. Fundraising plans were also agreed to support defibrillator maintenance.

Summary
Findochty and District Community Council met on 2 March 2026 at Findochty Town Hall. The previous minutes were approved and the Treasurer reported a total balance of £7,165 across the council’s funds. Members agreed to organise both a targeted and a larger community litter pick, approving up to £300 for equipment. Plans were also approved to secure independent website hosting and migrate council email accounts. A community survey will be launched in both paper and online formats to gather residents’ views. Other discussions included the potential lease of land behind the Key Store for future improvements, monitoring the village defibrillator battery, and ongoing concerns about speeding within the village.

Summary
Findochty and District Community Council held its inaugural meeting on 2 February 2026. Members elected Anne Bolton-Braidwood as Chair, Paul Steel as Secretary, and Paul Kerrison as Treasurer. The constitution was signed, and the group will meet monthly. The annual grant is £571.49. Plans include reinstating the website, a leaflet drop, and a suggestion box to improve community engagement.
